To The Girl I Want

by Brandon Morris

I'm not always sweet,
I'm not always kind;
I'll say the stupidest things,
I'll sometimes be out of my mind.

I won't always know what to say,
But what I say comes from my heart;
This won't express all my feelings,
But at least it is a start.

Sometimes I'll make you mad,
I may even make you cry;
But if that ever happens,
I'll try to wipe the tears from your eye.

I won't always know what to do,
I won't always know what to say;
But in every action that I take,
I'll try to make your day.

And if I go too far,
Say what I ought not to say;
I wish you would correct me,
Show me the right way.

If you need to talk to someone,
I'll always lend you an ear;
For what you say is dear to me,
It's what I want to hear.

And if you have a problem,
Something that troubles you;
You can always come to me,
I'll always try to help you.

Even though I'm not perfect,
As this you can plainly see,
I ask of you sweet Ashlee,
Will you go out with me?
